The Golden History – Literally
Nestled between North and South Table Mountains and the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Golden is a former gold rush town that is the perfect escape from the city life.
Founded in 1859, it was originally named “Golden City” and became the capital of the federally recognized Colorado Territory in 1862. More notably, in 1873, German immigrant Adolph Coors founded the Golden brewery, producing the first beautiful bottles of the Golden Lager. The name was changed to the Coors Brewery a year later.
